Job Description
The Position: This is a newly developed position that is appropriate for an experienced Category Manager with global exposure to Engineering and Construction Services across EPC and EPCM. Over the next three years, capital expenditures are estimated to reach $1.5 billion per year.
This position reports to the Director of Procurement, Corporate Services, and is part of the Corporate Services Procurement team. The Engineering/Technical Services Category Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing category strategy in accordance with the Procurement Department's objectives. This position will serve as a key strategic partner to site buyers, capital teams, and internal customers, managing total cost while guaranteeing the procurement of quality services to fulfill the demands of the organization. The position will assist with operations and capital expansion globally. Travel will be roughly 25%, with more initially required. The Category Manager will be in charge of designing and implementing procurement best practices, which will have an impact on policy, processes, tools, templates, and supplier management practices, as well as driving continuous improvement and cost savings.
The Responsibilities: •Collaborate with key business stakeholders to develop a category strategy for the fiscal year and beyond (1-3 years) to manage key supplier relationships and/or projects that produce company value.
•Achieve and report cost savings, as well as measure other category improvements related to sourcing efforts, such as company-wide sustainability targets. Leverage spending and bargain to get the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the company.
•Train, mentor, and coach assistant category managers.
•Collaborate with Procurement Analysts to do detailed spend analysis by category or subject matter in order to comprehend and control complex areas of expenditure.
•Work with key functions such as Legal, Human Resources, and Finance, as well as business unit stakeholders, to ensure that sourcing operations adhere to appropriate company policies and guidelines.
•Manage global and regional RFI/RFQ/RFP initiatives as part of the organization's competitive bidding strategy, including vendor evaluation, selection, and implementation activities via Procurement technology platforms.
•Cross-functional collaboration to manage supplier relationships in order to limit risk and assure the business's consistency of value and quality.
•Work with the Supply Chain Center of Excellence to drive and promote Procurement practices, procedures, and technology adoption.
•Maintain current understanding of sourcing, category best practices, and market statistics.
•Drive and implement best practices in Procurement, Category Management, and Supplier Relationships across Regional Procurement Service teams.
•Establish and manage category councils across various business divisions and teams.
•Hold quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with suppliers, creating key performance indicators (KPIs) and best practices for supplier performance (i.e. on-time delivery), cost reductions, and other value-added services.
•Experience negotiating contract legal terms, engineering agreements (including hourly billing rate formulation), category strategy development, and negotiating international agreements.
Qualifications: •Thorough understanding of Engineering Services / EPC / EPCM contract negotiations.
•6+ years of strategic sourcing/category management and procurement experience with growing responsibility and growth.
•Strong influencing abilities

•Experience with category management frameworks and supplier relationship management
•Comprehensive understanding of the S2P (Source to Pay) process
•Strong decision-making abilities and business acumen

•Ability to handle ambiguity
•Procurement spend data management and sourcing/contracting tools experience a plus
•Knowledge of Lean and Change Management.
•Procurement certifications (SCMP/CPM/CPSM)
•Experience with global / large Engineering / EPC / EPCM firms.
