Our client, a nationwide precision tool & die manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced EDM Operator , to join their winning team in Apollo.

Our candidate of choice will responsible for the set up and operation of conventional and/or wire EDM machines in a manner consistent with commonly accepted tool and die practices and perform specified preventive maintenance on company equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Machine materials to design specifications in the most efficient and safe manner possible.
• Program machine instructions to facilitate the most efficient manufacturing process.
• Utilize appropriate quality assurance practices and metrology equipment to ensure that all product conforms to applicable design specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibration in accordance with company and manufacturer’s instructions to ensure the quality capability of the equipment.
• Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Utilize good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean & safe work area to minimize the risk of personal injury, equipment damage, or the manufacture of non-conforming product.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as plane & solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to perform basic math functions, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, including translation to and from metric measurements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence and reports.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must have completed a Vocational-Technical EDM or Tool & Die Makers Apprenticeship or have the equivalent EDM experience, which included manufacturing details, punches and die sections.
• Must have the ability to successfully complete all training requirements as listed on the training matrix for this position.
• Must be available for scheduled work: normal work day of 10 hours, more or less hours as necessary, night shift and weekend work are possible.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and the use of quality control and related metrology tools and equipment.
