Req Id: 36343 Job Title: Educational Technology Consultant City: Hammond Job Description: Overview of Educational Technology Consultant Reporting to the Director of the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and working with other members of the CFE Staff, the Educational Technology Consultant will support faculty use of instructional technologies to promote and enhance student learning. Such support will take the form of workshops/training sessions, consultations, and creation of documentation/resources. This role will work closely with Purdue IT to inform and communicate decisions and updates involving instructional technology tools, including the Learning Management System

(LMS).

Duties and Responsibilities of Educational Technology Consultant Develop and deliver workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one consultations to faculty on the effective use of instructional technology tools and software, including AI tools and the Learning Management System (LMS), as well as how to meet accessibility standards. Collaborate closely with Purdue IT and other campus/system units to inform and guide instructional technology adoptions, implementations, and administration from a pedagogical perspective. This will include, but is not limited to, participating in institution and system change management groups and technology committees, assisting with testing of new releases, and collaborating/leading instructional technology tool Request for Proposals (RFPs) and pilots. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and resources for faculty on supported instructional technology tools, ensuring they are accessible and up to date. Provide training and support to faculty on accessibility standards and assist in the creation of accessible learning materials within the LMS to ensure compliance and inclusivity. Research new and emerging instructional technology tools and software, evaluate their potential for acquisition, and recommend and introduce these technologies to the institution/system. Education of Educational Technology Consultant Master's degree in Instructional/Educational Technology, Education, Information Technology or related field. Experience of Educational Technology Consultant Minimum of two years' experience working in an instructional/educational technology, technology education, or corporate training environment supporting the use of technology by others. Experience in higher education and designing/facilitating faculty development programs is preferred. Core Competencies of Educational Technology Consultant Required: Knowledge of instructional theories and their applications, as well as accessibility standards (including WCAG 2.1 AA). Demonstrated ability to use a wide variety of educational technologies to support teaching, learning, and research (e.g., Brightspace, iClicker, Respondus, Kaltura, Camtasia). Proficiency using and experience supporting a Learning Management System (LMS). Demonstrated ability to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) for productivity and knowledge of integrating AI into higher education courses and curricula. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging instruction to small groups (workshops/training sessions) and consult effectively one-on-one. Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team, and manage competing project outcomes and deadlines. A customer-service mindset and an enthusiasm for educational technology. Preferred: Experience working with Brightspace (D2L) Learning Management System. Higher education teaching experience.
