Job Description
The FSQA Manager will lead all aspects of the SQF Food Safety and quality management system. Manager must be knowledgeable in, and ensure compliance with, all USDA regulations governing processing, labeling, and export of meat products. 3-5 years of experience as QA Manager or similar position in meat or food processing is required. Experience under SQF or other GFSI certification standard preferred.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and review food safety and quality management programs, policies, and procedures, including HACCP, SOPs, work instructions, and SQF programs.
• Act as primary SQF Practitioner: manage and maintain the overall SQF system
• Conduct daily in-plant reviews of employee activities to ensure food safety standards are being met, including calling-out and correcting improper actions and behavior.
• Lead food safety and food quality teams as meeting organizer and facilitator as needed. Responsible for ensuring completion of key tasks, whether directly or via facilitation with other team members.
• Regularly update management on key trends and issues related to food safety, quality, and regulatory developments.
• Maintain current knowledge of, and compliance with, all regulatory, customer and SQF requirements related to food safety and quality.
• Responsible for coordinating all supplier assurance and supplier approval processes.
• Lead new product development process in terms of regulatory compliance for formulation, processing, and labeling.
• Responsible for coordinating staff training in food safety, quality, and worker health and safety.
