Job Description

GIS Intern Halff has an immediate opening for a water resources-focused GIS Intern in our Richardson, TX location to provide support for GIS mapping tasks, database development and engineering-related studies. The desired candidate would have an interest in water resources projects and be both team oriented and self-motivated. GIS Intern Overview: Responsibilities include water resources related mapping, including converting raster data to vector data; gathering and interpreting cross-sections and plans, creating and editing GIS files and analyzing spatial relationships. This includes map production, and familiarity with a variety of types of spatial data. This position would assist in data reporting, data review and technical documentation. GIS Intern Requirements: Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or other GIS-related field Working knowledge of general GIS concepts (editing, topology, queries, etc.) Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and improve workflows Attention to detail and ability to produce quality work GIS Intern Desired Skills: ArcGIS Desktop v10.x and/or ArcGIS Pro 2.x-3 Microsoft Office Strong work ethic Interest in staying current on uses and best practices of geospatial technology Company Overview: Halff is a mid-sized, employee-owned, diverse, and multi-disciplined professional services firm designed, engineered, planned, constructed - and purposed - for people.
