We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Attorney to join our team on a permanent basis. Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Attorney, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of civil litigation and insurance defense matters. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
2. Conducting legal research and gathering evidence. Conducting depositions.
3. Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery, and motions.
4. Advising clients on their legal rights and responsibilities.
5. Negotiating settlements in civil disputes.
6. Managing all phases of litigation from investigation, pleadings, and discovery to pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.
7. Developing strategies and negotiating insurance claims.
8. Collaborating with a team of legal professionals to ensure the best defense for our clients.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Litigation Attorney position must meet the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, and/or construction/labor law litigation.
3. Admission to the NY state bar.
4. Proven track record of managing caseload.
5. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex issues.
6. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
7. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, judges, and opposing counsel.
8. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
