Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant.

Position Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Position Status: Full-time, Days

Standard Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (EST)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Licenses & Certifications: CMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic is required.BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

  • Education : High School Diploma or equivalent is required

  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Job Description:

The Medical Assistant for Sentara Internal Medicine will focus on checking patient ins, scheduling appointments, and occasionally will assist with bringing the patients into rooms, taking vitals, verifying patient information, and preparing them for the doctor.You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients.

Perform patient care-related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
