• Direct management of the healthcare needs of newborn infants in a Newborn Nursery in an urban setting.
• Coordinating care from admission to discharge: comprehensive physical assessment, daily management and documentation of care plan and course of care, parent/family education.
• Effective collaboration with other maternal health care providers and nursery staff in a culture of respect and in conjunction with a pediatrician or neonatologist.
• Must demonstrate reliability, clinical competence and ability to work both independently and cohesively as a member of a highly functioning team.
• Assist with quality improvement activities and education of residents, medical students and NP students.

Requirements

• Master's Degree from an accredited Pediatric or Neonatal program
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification
• Maryland NP license
• NRP and BLS CPR required
• One year of clinical experience specific to practice preferred
