Heavy Civil Marine Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Heavy Civil Marine Superintendent to oversee and manage field operations for marine construction projects including piers, docks, wharves, bulkheads, pile driving, dredging, and related infrastructure. The Superintendent will ensure safe, productive, and high-quality project execution while meeting budgetary and schedule requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine construction, leadership, and heavy civil operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise all field activities related to heavy civil marine construction projects.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations including crew management, equipment scheduling, material deliveries, and subcontractor coordination.
• Enforce safety regulations and company safety policies; lead daily toolbox talks and job hazard analysis.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction activities to meet project milestones and deadlines.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Quality Control to ensure proper execution of project specifications.
• Direct and monitor pile driving, cofferdams, dredging, concrete placement, heavy lift operations, and other marine construction tasks.
• Manage equipment mobilization/demobilization and maintenance of marine assets (barges, cranes, tugs, etc.).
• Maintain accurate daily logs, production reports, and project documentation.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks, delays, or conflicts proactively.
• Mentor and develop field personnel, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and productivity.

Qualif

• 7+ years of experience in heavy civil marine construction with at least 3 years in a Superintendent or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of marine construction methods, equipment, and industry standards.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting marine construction drawings, specifications, and work plans.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors.
• Valid OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and extended hours as required by project schedules.
• Ability to travel or relocate to project sites as needed.

Preferred Experience:

• Projects involving piers, wharves, cofferdams, marine foundations, or offshore structures.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting for marine work.
• Experience with dredging, underwater construction, and heavy lifting operations.
