Join the August Schells Brewing Company with 165 years of brewing excellence as our Local Sales Representative! Are you passionate about craft beer and building strong customer relationships? We're seeking a full-time Local Sales Representative to join our dynamic Sales team in New Ulm, MN. As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with our Sales and Marketing departments to drive initiatives, expand the reach of Schell's and Grain Belt brands, and strengthen relationships with both new and existing customers. Reporting to the Distributor Sales Manager, this role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Schells Brewery's growth and continued legacy.
- Ensure that the Brewery's quality standards are clearly understood and followed in the retail trade.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with accounts in the local route area.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies.
- Run a five-day, pre-sell sales route in and around the brewery.
- Keep customers up to date with sales promotions, new beers, pricing, and promotional opportunities.
- Conduct product samplings for 6-9 hours each month.
- Conduct inventory counts and inventory rotation, and work with account management to place weekly beer orders and achieve retail business objectives.
- Place monthly beer orders to the brewery and manage inventory to ensure proper sell-through and inventory control.
- Assume a leadership role in implementing key brewery initiatives with retailers and restaurants in the locally defined area.
- Use data systems to identify opportunities for new or expanded distribution, lost sales, incremental volume increases, and other business insights.
- Ensure proper use of available point-of-sale items throughout the territory.
- Conduct promotional sales events for local accounts and coordinate with the marketing team when necessary.
- Attend and actively participate in all brewery sales team meetings as requested.
- Review and understand all legal restrictions regarding brewery products in each market and ensure all initiatives are executed within those limitations.
Requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge in overseeing and managing a personal and professional calendar, with particular attention to balancing multiple deadlines at any given time.
- Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekends and extended workdays are necessary.
- Highly capable of multi-tasking and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven interpersonal communication skills, outgoing and energetic personality with a positive attitude.

- Team player who thrives on collaboration but is also independent in work duties.
- Excellent work ethic and sense of accountability
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Education and Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Sales, or a related field
- 5 years' related work experience in Sales, preferably in the beer industry
Preferred Skills - Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications
- Professional self-starter with a positive attitude
Physical Ability - Able to alternate between sitting, standing and walking.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and crouch, kneel, and stoop as needed.
- Carry, move, and lift to 50 pounds with assistance.
