Akkodis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering Java-based applications, working with microservices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams while providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Rate Range: $48/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Software Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing backend logic, Web APIs, and batch jobs using Java 17, Spring Boot, and J2EE.

• Collaborating with clients, business stakeholders, and offshore teams to ensure project success.

• Leading the development of microservice applications and ensuring high-quality code through continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Urban Code Deploy.

• Debugging and analyzing applications to address issues and optimize performance.

• Working in Agile environments using tools like Jira and Scrum for project management and execution.

• Supporting the team technically, ensuring best practices are followed in design, testing, and deployment phases.

• Contributing to the design and implementation of scalable and reliable systems using Kafka and Kubernetes/OpenShift (if applicable).

• Providing technical expertise in all phases of the project, from requirement gathering to deployment and support.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5-7 years of experience in software development, with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.

• Strong experience in backend development, Web APIs, and batch processing (Kafka processors).

• Proficiency in using CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Urban Code Deploy) and experience with Agile methodologies.

Pay Details: $48.00 to $50.00 per hour
