A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Provide technical leadership through a product's full development lifecycle, from early stage research to implementation. Work with marketing strategy to keep track of current business roadmaps and industry trends, and their applicability to product development activities. Understand and support system engineering activities, including requirements definition and total systems solutions that acknowledge technical and business constraints. Contribute to early stage rapid concept development, prototype and test iterations with cross-functional teams. Oversee the regulated development processes and standards for risk management, usability, and safety to ensure system design and documentation meet relevant safety and regulatory standards globally. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed concept study plans to translate customer requirements into hardware and software solutions. Perform technical planning for cross-functionally impacting activities like integration, verification and validations, and project roadmaps. Understand, evaluate, and communicate technical development maturity. Work with engineers to develop an understanding of the technological underpinnings of system architecture and detailed design. Provide leadership and mentoring to engineering teams. Track and communicate status of deliverables. TECHNICAL SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills. Required Knowledge and Experience Requires mastery level knowledge of specialty area and working knowledge of several other areas, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have deep knowledge of project management. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $156,000.00 - $195,000.00 - $234,000.00. The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
