Job Description: UX/UI Designer (Entry-level) Project Based

Job Title: Web Designer (Entry-Level) with UX/UI Experience – Project-Based

Reports To: Executive Director

Organization: Neurodiversity Employment Network: Philadelphia

Location: Fully Remote (with regular virtual meetings)

Per grant stipulations, candidates must be located in the Greater Philadelphia Region (within 1 hour of Philadelphia) 

Position Summary:

The Neurodiversity Employment Network: Philadelphia (NENPHL) is seeking an entry-level Web Designer with at least 1-2 years of experience in UX/UI design to assist in creating an engaging, accessible, and user-centered platform. This platform will serve as a resource hub, connecting neuroinclusive employers, service providers, and allies across the region. This is a grant-funded, part-time, project-based position with flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design an intuitive and visually appealing platform interface that aligns with user needs and organizational goals.
  • Implement user experience and user interface best practices to enhance accessibility and ease of use.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to guide development in consultation with the Executive Director.
  • Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to ensure seamless implementation of design elements.
  • Test and refine the platform’s design based on feedback and usability testing.
  • Ensure the platform meets accessibility standards and accommodates a diverse range of users.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of web design tools and software (e.g., Figma, or similar).
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and practices.
  • Experience creating responsive and accessible designs.
  • Interest in designing for diverse audiences, including neurodivergent users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet project deadlines.
  • Access to a computer and internet for remote work.

Work Schedule:

  • Part-time, project-based (approximately 10–15 hours per week), with regular virtual meetings.

Compensation:

  • $45.00/hr
