Job Description

As an Environmental Geologist/Scientist for Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE), you will be responsible for completion of due diligence projects (i.e. Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Brownfields assessments, etc), accurate investigation of pollution sources, operation of remediation systems, sampling of soil, groundwater, and surface water, preparation of reports, and communication of findings with the BLE Environmental team.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform environmental due diligence projects for corporate, industrial, and commercial transactions, including compliance with ASTM E1527.
• Performing field activities either individually or as part of a team that may include the collection of field data, completing field tests, observation of construction activities, implementing health and safety procedures, oversight of related subcontractor services and other field related activities.
• Field duties may include drilling oversight, well installation, analytical sampling, gauging and surveying activities, operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
• Assisting in the field sampling and testing of various environmental media.
• Candidate must work independently with minimal supervision.
• Calibrating and maintaining field instrumentation, QA/QC data sheets and field logs in support of environmental investigations.
• Performing field activities related to environmental compliance, stormwater pollution prevention and erosion and sediment control inspections and reporting.
• Perform multiple projects concurrently within strict timeframes, scope/budget expectations, and meet high quality standards on project deliverables.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline.
• Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Consistent travel for field work required locally and throughout the Southeastern United States.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Ability to obtain Geologist-in-Training designation is preferred.
• Limited Health and Safety experience
